With the flood of major DVD debuts I couldn't get to The Terminator earlier this month, but it's a key release too.

Out now from MGM Home Entertainment through Warner Home Video in Canada, The Terminator disc features a terrific new digital print of the naive, crude, yet influential 1984 film in its proper widescreen format.

As on most of James Cameron's DVD offerings, there are tons of extras, in this case on the flip side of the single disc release. The only oddity is no feature-length commentary.

Cameron however, shows up in other ways, including in commentaries on seven deleted scenes and in The Making Of The Terminator: A Retrospective Documentary.

On screen, Cameron interviews Arnold Schwarzenegger and they recontruct the development of the project, replete with clips and the kind of insights only insiders can coax out.
