The Sarah Connor Chronicles (T:SCC)
A TV-series about the life of Sarah and John Connor, after the events of T2
|
 |
Main info
The Sarah Connor Chronicles (T:SCC) is a TV-series released by C2 Pictures and Warner Bros. Television, and shown for the
first time by the Fox Broadcasting Company, through the FOX Networks. The show features several new actors portraying the
story of Sarah and John Connor, right after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day
(1991).
This TV-series has an whole new cast, including but not limited to, Lena Headey
(as Sarah Connor), Thomas Dekker (as John Connor), Richard T. Jones
(as FBI-agent James Ellison) and Summer Glau (as 'Cameron', a good female Terminator
sent back to protect the duo).
The show, or at least its pilot series, is slated for a 2008 release on the Fox Network and, depending on the rating,
an entire series is expected to air just a few weeks after.

The script for the series has been written by Josh Friedman, a Hollywood writer whose credits include Steven Spielberg's
'War of the Worlds' and Brian De Palma's 'The Black Dahlia'. Friedman also serves as executive producer and showrunner,
along with C2's senior vice president of development, James Middleton.
The pilot episodes are directed by David Nutter, whose credits include several highly entertaining TV-series of
'Smallville', 'Supernatural', and 'Without a Trace'. Though the TV budget is a lot smaller, Nutter is prepared to follow
in the footsteps of blockbuster director James Cameron, wanting
"to live up, as best he can, to the bar that Jim Cameron set. It has to carry as much of a punch."

««« | Synopsis
At the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day,
Sarah vanquished the liquid metal Terminator sent from the future to kill her teenage son, John. Sarah and John now find
themselves alone in a very dangerous, complicated world. Fugitives from the law, they are confronted with the reality that
still more enemies from the future, and the present, could attack at any moment.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles (T:SCC) reveals what happens when Sarah (Lena Headey,
'The Brothers Grimm', '300') stops running and goes on the offensive against an ever-evolving technological enemy
bent on destroying her and her sons life, and perhaps the world. Her son, 15-year-old John Connor
(Thomas Dekker, 'Heroes'), knows that he may be the future savior of mankind,
but is not yet ready to take on the mantle of leadership that he's told is his destiny. John finds himself inextricably
drawn to Cameron (Summer Glau, 'Serenity', 'The Unit'), an enigmatic and
otherworldly student at his high school, who soon proves to be much more than his confidante – she assumes the role
of Sarah and John's fearless protector.
On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, James Ellison
(Richard T. Jones, 'Judging Amy'), who soon becomes a powerful ally.
The series represents an exciting reinvention of the Terminator franchise, in which the strong and intrepid Sarah discovers
that protecting her son and stopping the rise of the machines is more difficult than she had ever imagined.

««« | In-depth info
It is rumoured that the name of the good Terminator, 'Cameron' (played by Summer Glau), is an ode to James Cameron,
the original creator and director of the first two Terminator movies and the Universal Studios attraction (T1, T2 and T2:3D).
Arnold Schwarzenegger might appear in the TV-series in an cameo role. This is a rumour and not yet denied or confirmed. Also
past stars like Robert Patrick and Edward Furlong are concidered to appear in cameo roles. This is also still based on rumours.
Spoiler Warning!!!
Some of our sources told us that during the pilot series, lots of inconcistancies already appeared. Some of these are shown
below for future reference:
- Protector Terminator Cameron has been sent back from the year 2027. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) and the original
Terminator T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) on the other hand were sent back from the year 2029 (according to T1).
This means that Cameron, whos concidered by the producers/writers to be the most advanced Terminator build (more
character, can do better things), is sent out earlier (2027) then the baddie and goodie from the original The
Terminator (2029). Yet Kyle states that the Terminator was the newest most fearsom machine yet. This does not
'compute'!?
- Their Skynet is activated on April 19, 2011. Judgment Day is set to happen two days late, making it April 21,
2011.
T2's Judgment Day: August 29, 1997 (posponed, according to T3)
SCC's Judgment Day: April 19, 2011
T3's Judgment Day: July 24, 2004 (not posponed, since we see it happen)
All things concidered, the producers now state that T:SCC is not a series between T2 and T3, but a seperate entity
following a different timeline of events. As if T3 never existed in the first place. Soo... in that scenario,
anything can happen.
- Appearently someone (or something?) was sent back from the future to the year 1963, to build a TDE (Time
Displacement Equipement) inside a vault in a bank. Cameron knows they build it, but shes a Terminator, thus
in reference Skynet should know they built it, thus anything could have happened. There is also a gun featured
in it that has stuff in it that could (and still does not) exist in that timeframe (even if it took them "28 months
to build" as stated by Cameron in the series. Ehu... right.
- At the end of the pilot, the threesome of heroes travel from the year 1999 to the year 2007. This to facilitate
an easier timeframe for the audience to attend to.
Take the above with a little (or a lot) leverage and see the series as it is meant to be... a good passed-time situated
in the world we love, Terminator. And then not concidering it to be any part of the movies timeline, although even that
has been screwed up since T3.
We can't wait to see the eposides role out and become a kick ass season to view, one after another, year in year out!
This has got to be fun!
