Summer Lyn Glau, who was born on July 24, 1981 in San Antonio, Texas, was early on trained as a ballerina dancer while subsequently studying tango and flamenco.
In her teens, she performed at the Majestic Theatre in shows like Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, The Happy Widow, Peer Gynt or Paint Your Wagon. However, an injury led her to pursue an acting job while she was healing. A little later, she decided to move to Los Angeles and pursued an acting and dancing career.
Her first acting gig was for the television series Angel, which starred David Boreanaz. In that show, Glau showcased her dancing and acting skills. Later, she was cast in another Whedon production, Firefly, playing the role of River.
Other television credits include appearances in Cold Case, CSI, The Unit and The 4400. She also reprised her role as River Tam in the Universal movie, Serenity, the sequel to Firefly. In the late 2006, she joined the production team and cast of the new FOX series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles (T:SCC).
She plays Cameron, an enigmatic and otherworldly student at the high school where John Connor is studying. He finds himself drawn to her, as she later proves to be more than just his confidante. Later, Cameron assumes the role of John and his mother, Sarah's protector in the fight against the threats and enemies from the future.
