Cameron Gives Terminator Salvation

James Cameron gives Terminator Salvation

Some of you may (or may not) remember the debacle around James Cameron saying that Terminator Salvation might be a big pile of steaming xxx, but AICN.com now reports on this misquoted from word of the director himself.

Well, he didn't actually say that. Just another case of something being taken out of context, James Cameron has responded to the negative impression he supposedly left on the project and confirms that he has yet to see, hear or read a single thing from it.

From the AICN.com report, Cameron had this to say:

"There's been some kind of misunderstanding between me and McG, perfectly innocent I believe. He asked me in a phone call when I was shooting in New Zealand earlier this year if I would be a supporter and creative participant in the new film. I said sure, send me the script and I'll give you my thoughts. And I warned him that free advice is usually worth what you pay for it. For whatever reason I never got the script and to date I haven't seen a foot of film other than what everybody's seen in the trailer, which is not enough to form an opinion. So I have zero basis for supporting or dissing the film. As I said in an interview, for all I know it could be a masterpiece or it could be a big steaming pile. I think all people heard was the steaming pile part and concluded I was against the film, which I'm not."

He does mention that Sam Worthington thinks Terminator Salvation is good, which goes a long way with Cameron:

"In fact, it might be very good, an opinion based solely on what Sam Worthington has shared with me. He's nobody's fool when it comes to material, and has absolutely the lowest bullshit quotient of anyone I know, and he has repeatedly told me that he reckons the film is going to be good. I know him to be very critical (in a healthy way) of his own work, and an actor who always aspires to excellence, so I know he wouldn't praise the film if he didn't feel it."

In conclusion, Cameron says that he can't give any blessing or judgment on a film he hasn't seen, which sounds just about right.

Terminator Salvation footage terminated

Soo... observative folks must by now have seen the leaked footage of the creative director Martin Laing talking about some of the creations to be seen in Terminator Salvation, with additional footage of the movie added to the piece.

TerminatorFiles.com was never intending to release this info anyway since we knew what would happen. For one, its not officially released info (clearly visible by the timecoding and added copyrights disclaimers) and two... we recon they would not release this kind of material in the first place.

As it turns out, Warner Bros is now contacting big sites around us to help get rid of the footage around the world, and they might even sew some of them for releasing it. Since we are in direct contact with them, and we are both working together in providing you with some interesting new stuff as things develop... and we did not want to damage our contact, we did nothing.

However... the damage has been done, we have seen the footage, it looks cool, but also tells us stuff we initially didn't even want to know, which has an impact on the views of the movie when it comes out. Creative surfers might be able to find the footage roaming around on lots of sites, but not here. TerminatorFiles.com is in this for the long run.

Soo... whats so special to come around, you say? Well... we are in talks and hope to help delve deeper into the new movies, new contests and what not more, with the help of our new friends of at Warner Bros. and from the stuff we did get to see, we are sure it'll be a blast!

And if not, you still know we'll keep delivering the goodies you soo despirately need... since we are by now the biggest Terminator fansite in the world. Don't take our word for it... read the forums for feedback from fans around the world, or check big sites around us for more info on how great we are.

Some healthy self-promotion does not hurd ;).
