T:SCC cancelled or just moved?
|
|
|
The latest rumour on the net, is the fact that some source told some site(s) that FOX is thinking of either cancelling
the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles show, or moving it to another timeslot within its weekly programming, so to
give more meaning to another series they definately don't want to lose.
What to make out of it? This depends on how and where you place an emphasize on in certain sentences. One, its some source,
so nothing has been confirmed or denied by FOX, two, the timeslot movement, has only been reported on one of the sites, soo
a cancellation is not applicable, and three... why would they when other ratings are skyrocketing high.
Below is the lowdown from some of the other fan- and scifi portals.
Fox Close To Terminating 'Sarah Connor'
Source: www.syfyportal.com
With ratings far below even the network's worst predictions, Fox could pull the plug on production for Terminator: The
Sarah Connor Chronicles as early as this week. The network has been disappointed by T:SCC's numbers so far this
season, and some executives feel that the show is dragging down numbers for Prison Break, which airs as a lead-out.
"Audiences just aren't responding to the show," a Fox source tells SyFy Portal. "Our biggest surprise are the 18-to-49s
[a key advertising demographic], those numbers are in the toilet."
This would be bad news for T:SCC, which had a strong first season despite airing just nine episodes in light of the
Writers Guild of America strike. The show debuted at mid-season with an 11.1 rating/16 share -- the highest premiere of
any genre show last season -- following an NFL playoff game, but quickly lost a good portion of its audience. By the
time it was all said and done, T:SCC overnights averaged a 5.6/9, half of the premiere audience, with ratings reaching
as low as a 4.5/7 at once point.
Getting a 4.5/7 could almost be a lifesaver for T:SCC right now, as the show hasn't even come close to reaching that
number. After four episodes, the highest T:SCC has reached is a 4.1/6, and is averaging a 3.7. That's 34 percent off
its audience average from the previous year.
Audience stability has been slightly better than it was last year following the series premiere spike, but stability so
far this year has been slipping for T:SCC. Its Stability Index Rating, as determined by SyFy Portal using a comparison
of its season high versus its average overnight rating, gave T:SCC a 50.5 -- by far the worst of any show last season.
This year, however, it's at a much better 90.2 rating, but has been steadily becoming more and more unstable each week.
So what will happen?
"All I can say is that production will likely stop, and I would think that Fox might try to air some of the episodes
already in the can," the source said. "But I don't know. They don't want to lose Prison Break, so there could be some
schedule shuffling in the future."
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Fox, so treat this as rumor.
"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Sarah Connor Chronicles Ratings in the Tank
Source: www.terminatorchronicles.com
Well this certainly... sucks. Apparently the ratings for the second season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles have been less
than spectacular. In fact, they're downright awful. Rumors are now beginning to circulate that if the show's ratings doesn'
t pick up sometime soon, FOX may cut Season 2 short and not renew it past the 13th episode that has already been ordered
and put into production. Or at least, that's the RUMOR coming from the TV gossip hounds. Here's one of them, in response
to a reader question about TSCC's not-so-great ratings.
Via Ask Ausiello over at EW:
Question: How bad are the ratings for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles? — Dean
Ausiello: Armageddon-like? An SCC insider tells me that if the show's numbers don't start to climb, Fox is unlikely
to order any additional episodes beyond the 13 currently in the pipeline. At Saturday's EW pre-Emmy bash, Thomas
Dekker remained hopeful that they could hold off doomsday at least until the end of football season. "We're up
against Monday Night Football," he sighed, "which is tricky because we have a lot of football fans."
Ouch. "Armageddon-like"?
Man, how could a show this good not attract the attention of the TV watching public? Meanwhile, a piece of crap like
Dancing with the Stars continues to get #1 ratings? What the hell is this country coming to?
An original, high-octane TV show versus a show with B and C-list 'celebrities' dancing. No contest, right? Apparently not
so much. It's almost enough to drive a killer cyborg from the future psycho.
Fox Getting Ready To Terminate Sarah Connor
Source: terminatorrecon.blogspot.com
I come with BAD NEWS and something I saw coming from day one (as this is what Fox is good at). With ratings far below
even the network's worst predictions, Fox could pull the plug on production for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"
as early as this week. The network has been disappointed by T:SCC's numbers so far this season, and some executives feel
that the show is dragging down numbers for Prison Break, which airs as a lead-out.
If Fox pull the plug next week (which they will) they may not even air the rest of the episodes filmed sofar and we may
have to wait until warner released them on DVD.
So the question is now... Will another channel pick it up?
More news on this very soon but things are looking bad.
