Producers talk T4

|
Mark Savage from the BBC has had an interview with Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek about the new slated
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins movie(s)... asked them some questions sent in from BBC website viewers.
We've checked the source of the video, but were not able to reproduce it onto our site. Soo... here is litte
editted transcript of the Terminator contents of the interview, as best as we could type it out.
Mark Savage: "Over the last 24 hours you've been sending us hundreds of questions for the producers
of the new Terminator trilogy. They are here now with us on the BBC balcony. Welcome to the BBC."
Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek: "Thank you..."
Mark: "Can you introduce yourself to everyone at home?"
Derek: "I'm Derek Anderson, Co-CEO of The Halcyon Company, and one of the producers on
Terminator Salvation."
Victor: "Victor Kubicek, Co-CEO of Halcyon and also producing Terminator."
Mark: "Thats great. Well lets take a first question. This one comes from Dominique, whos in England. He's
asking you if the new film is going to be filmed simultaniously all three or are you gonna leave a gap in between
them?"
Derek: "We are not going to film them all at once... at this point. I mean, for us its really important
that the script is incredible and we deliver what all... you know the Terminator fans out there are expecting..
cause we're... the reason we are producing this films is we're huge Terminator fans, and kind of grew up with it,
soo... there are three in the works, but the next one will be film until we have the absolutely, sort of perfect
script. Basicly."
Mark: "Excellent. Now Tony Robertons, whos in Glasgow in the UK... well in Scotland... he's very happy
you've got Christian Bale and he noticed in the story we did yesterday that he was your first choice. He's asking
if you wrote the script with him in mind?"
Victor: "Eeuh. Actually the script was written by Ferris and Broncato, who wrote Terminator 3, and eeuhm,
the script was not written with him in mind, per se... however as it goes with film making, there is always
revisions and since he's come on board, we've done a lot of work and everyone is quite happy about it."
Derek: "But I think when we finished the script, we realised that there wasn't any actor we prefered having
but him... soo we're thrilled."
Victor: "True enough... That is sort of the ideal role for him."
Derek: "He was our first choice."
Mark: "A question that has come in from many people, 'What inspired the choice of McG, who of course directed the
Charlies Angels movies, to take on this franchise"
Victor: (looking at Derek) "Do you want to answer that?"
Derek: "We met a lot of amazing film makers, some of them have since gone on to work on other projects... but McG,
like us, was always a huge Terminator fan and grew up with the franchise. His vision matched ours. He had soo much passion
and enthousiasm. It was one of those meetings you walk out of, thinking it couldn't have been better. I remember the hair
in my neck standing right up as he described his vision of they way he'd make this film. We immediately knew... he would
be the one.
Victor: "His vision really married beautifully with ours. We are really on the same page."
Derek: "And three weeks in to filming he has more then delivered on what he promised and the vision he shared with
us when we first met, soo... we couldn't be in better hands."

Mark: "With the next qeustions we are going to the US for the first time. This is Ryan in Wisconsin. He's been doing
his research and he knows you are also in a computer games company. He wants to know if there going to be any Terminator
games and if soo, wether they are going to be the same plot as the game or if they are going to be something extra and
special for the games players..."
Victor: "We are in development on the Terminator game. We have a company called Halcyon Games and we are
self-publishing this game and it very exciting. We've been in production, I think about 11 months and of course, you
know, the Terminator world is vast and very exciting... and the game is going to, hopefully appeal to our hardcore fans
and our hardcore gamers... and what we are doing with the game is... unlike... The game is not going to mirror the film
exactly at all, but what will happen is... we are going to use this particular scene in the film as a point of departure...
in that the film and the game share... and the game will go on in a different exiting direction, but many of the same themes
and of course living and breathing in the same Terminator world."
Mark: "We've got another one from Scotland... this is Paul and I think its a question a lot of people are asking.
I know I asked you yesterday and you couldn't tell me... but I have to ask you; Is Arnold Schwarzenegger going to be
in the new film?"
Victor: "Sorry... but we just can't answer that one."
Derek: "We'd love to tell you... but..."
Victor: "I wish we could, but we can't. Sorry about that."
The interview continues about the Philip K. Dick's stories and possible movies and games. (not in this transcript)
Mark: "Two final questions... and both about Terminator I'm afraid. Adam in Hollywood says; Can I be in it and what is
your email address, so I can sent you my resume."
Derek and Victor laugh...
Victor: "Adam... I'm sorry but we are fully cast... but"
Derek: "T5?!"
Victor: "You might want to take some acting classes now."
Mark: "Adam Foye, whos in London says; Who would win a fight between Derek Anderson, Victor Kubicek and the Terminator?"
Victor: "Eeeuh... We know the Terminators tricks, but I don't think that would stop him from beating us down."
Derek: "I think humanity should... will always prevail... over the machines."
Mark: "Well. Thanks soo much for taking the time to talk to us."
Victor: "We really appriciate it."
Derek: "It was a pleasure."
