No Terminators for T4... or?!

There is still not much known about what the story of the new Terminator 4 movie is going to be... let alone the proclaimed trilogy. But that does not stop us fans from debating about it. What will the future bring?

First and foremost, there is talk about what year this new movie will take place. According to the info only and extrapolations by the fans, this is estimated to play around 2019. Setting this date (or year) is important to us (and the producers and writers, lets hope they read this), because there are some facts about the future that thus 'should' take place (not taken into concideration that it could be an alternate timeline, as T3 has somewhat stippulated).

Soo... the year 2019. What is soo important about that? Well... the previous movies stippulated certain events to take place at certain dates in time, even if this meant dates that are still to come (thus in the future). Most of our different timelines can be viewed in the Terminator Timelines section of our site. Even with just three movies running, we extrapolated several timelines already, but most of them contain dates and events that are somewhere in the same years.

Sure... we proclaim to have detailed files at TerminatorFiles. But its the fans themselfs, those many and mucho around us, that have made these timelines possible. Just like Scanman22, a frequent poster at our forums that has extensive stippulated what should happen, or more important, what should not.

Scanman22 explains...  If the movie is going to be set in 2019, then don't count on the introduction of a T-800 flesh covered Terminator to appear... unless the creators know nothing of Terminator Mythology. I would be very upset if the T-800 makes an appearance of nothing more than a 'drawing on a board'. Frankly, I would be pretty upset if a 600 series (with rubber skin) was anything but brand new within the film.

I feel as though each series only lasts about 3-5 years max. Otherwise Skynet would easily be defeated because Terminator Infiltrator units would be more easily spotted, weaknesses identified, and evolving resistance weapons developed to incapacitate them. But, during the last few years of the war, Skynet seemed to be constantly upgrading and pumping out stronger and newer models as the humans began closing in more quickly toward absolute victory.

So it would be something similar to this:

  • 2005-8: Small HK's and T-1's
  • 2008-11: T-200 series (first bipedal machines)
  • 2007-33: Large Aerial HK's
  • 2010-14: HK T-300 series ('Fast Walkers' land bipedal HKs)
  • 2008-30: Centurions (giant tanks similar to the T-1s)
  • 2012-15: T-400 series
  • 2015-18: T-500 series (early bulky endoskeleton)
  • 2018-24: T-600 series (battlefield ready steel endoskeletons)
  • 2019-27: T-600-I series (first Infiltrators with latex skin)
  • 2024-28: T-700 series (titanium human-sized endos)
  • 2027-31: T-800 series (titanium battlefield endoskeletons)
  • 2028-31: T-800-I series (human tissue over titanium hyper-alloy combat chasis)
  • 2029-32: T-850 series and Infiltrator series (upgraded intelligence and power supply)
  • 2029-33: T-900 series and Infiltrator series (first Terminators built to 'kill' other reprogrammed terminators, coltan endo, upgraded armor/intelligence)
  • 2029-31: T-1000 series (mimetic poly-alloy Terminator, limited production, advanced technology for infiltration and combat)
  • 2032-33: T-X series (the newest and final Terminator series, designed to destroy rogue terminators, on-board weapons, poly-mimetic exterior over coltan hyper-alloy combat chasis interior endoskeleton)
So, there you have it! Dates and descriptions are not completely 100% validated/factual, but it is probably pretty close as to how things occurred. I left out the entire 'infiltrator only' series like the I-950 and what not because they have only appeared in the Expanded Terminator Universe like the comics and such. Plus, they aren't really machines, but people cloned from birth with neural-net processors in them.

But maybe we will see them in T4 with Marcus being some type of hybrid creation?!

Arnie (or any T-800 Terminator model) could not appear in T4, not even as a cameo since T-800's have not been created yet. Maybe in T5 or T6. Which might actually happen since Arnie stated 'he might return to acting in 2012'.

Hopefully, that is how this new trilogy will play out and in the later ones Arnie can return.

Scanman22 has posted this indepth guide and it was the closest thing we could find that depicted what Terminator 4 should be about. Soo... playing in 2019, it could only feature HK's or the T-200 through to T-600 series. As Kyle Reese stated in the first The Terminator movie (not exact quote): "The 600 series had rubber skin, and were easy to spot".

Soo... whats this article about then?

If the producers and writers come up with flesh covered Terminators (thus in our book, the T-800 series), in freaking 2019... then they are way of of the Terminator Mythology. Then Terminator 4 (or Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) really us screwed beyond recognition. Or at least by the hardcore fans.

Then again... they ARE creating a new fanbase; PG-13, remember?

The good old past

We all know that thus far we've had three Terminator movies; 'The Terminator' (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' (2003). We also know that the last one has devided the fanbase into two camps, pro and con. Well... three camps actually, since there also those that are neutral about the movie (like me?). Never the less... fans from all around the world have made several fanmade movies to show their love for the movies, and to keep our love true (since we ARE TerminatorFiles), we've got a little treat for you folks.

A very cool fanmade music-video by AJ.

"I'm a huge fan of the first two Terminator movies and just completed a video tribute that I would love to have listed on the site. Check it out over on my site for HD downloads in two resolutions!"

Or watch it streamed below. Click to play... and enjoy!
