Arnold back in movies around 2011?!

Will Arnold return for his trademark role?!

Previously posted in our forums, through a Dutch language article, there was some info that Arnold might come back to his action hero status and might concider returning to his first carreer. Well... the news has spreaded on the web and the biggest Arnold fansite out their has more to say about Arnold returning to the movies. Arnold back for a cameo role in Terminator 4? Hell yeah! We hope so, or become the star of all the next movies?

Below is the lowdown by TAFs and their source about Arnold returning...

TAFs reports:

"According to Schwarzenegger's spokesman in the Governor's office, Arnold may certainly be returning to making movies in just a few more years. PastDeadline.com spoke with Governor Schwarzenegger's spokesman, Aaron McLear, and the possibility of returning to movies is very good. But before we read on with their full story, we'd like to get Arnold's attention."

"For the past few years, Gov Arnold has been dismissing just about all questions regarding his future in films. His typical political response goes something like: "I'm only focusing on California right now so I can't really say if I will return to movies. My mind is just on the state and how to make it grand and ballsy." Okay, that's not a direct quote but you get it."

"What TheArnoldFans.com would like to propose to Arnold is that by giving T4 a cameo, of just a few epic moments, he will in fact help California even more! Arnold's endorsement and involvement could double T4's box office receipts and by doing so, this California Governor would be allowing more money to be made by Hollywood, more cash flow with merchandise, and if he makes a deal saying much of T4 has to be filmed in California, then he's creating more jobs for the state! Just think about all the extra millions of dollars that Governor Schwarzenegger would help California gain if he gives up a 2-day filming schedule for his cameo. Please Arnold, for the Terminator fans (to make it a better movie) and for the sake of making California a wealthier state, please become involved with T4!"

PastDeadline.com reports:

You know how Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken time off from his life as a Big Action Movie Star to serve as governor of the state of California and make sure everyone here has health insurance and all of that stuff? Well, we hear from the folks who have been walking the WGA strike picket line that The Guv has floated word to his peeps to spread the message that once his last term as the state's biggest cheese ends in January 2011, he would like to resume his role as a boxoffice superstar/film icon.

A few high-profile writers of action films who wished not to be ID'd (you know how that is) were heard conferring that before the strike hit, agents were putting out feelers for material and pitches to develop projects with Schwarzenegger in mind. Nothing specific yet. All just preliminary stuff. What this means is that Arnold isn't so very interested in running for the Senate and potentially spending all of that time in boring old Washington, D.C., California/Austria boy that he is. He also still can't run for president, as we know, since he isn't a natural-born U.S. citizen. There was once talk about trying to amend the Constitution and all of that, but our forefathers put the kibosh on that idea.

Schwarzenegger's agent at William Morris, Cary Berman, was on vacation for the holidays and unavailable for comment. But we did manage to catch up with Schwarzenegger's spokesman in the governor's office, Aaron McLear, an accommodating gent who said he would run this little query past his big boss man -- and did! Take note, publicity people: this kind of thing makes us trade types really happy.

Here is what McLear had to say: "Once the governor's current term is up, he may go back to the movies, or devote energy to business, or continue working on environmental issues, or run a foundation -- or start painting!" He continued, "But the governor has decided nothing final as yet and is devoting his energy to the job of running the state."

And what about any political future beyond 2010? McLear's quote mentioned nothing about that. Was McLear aware that his statement included no political option?

"Yes," he replied.

Hmmmmm...OK then. Did we just hear Schwarzenegger's political days are likely over in a mere three years? It sounded that way.

What evidently implanted this comeback thought in Schwarzenegger's mind, it's being theorized, is the recent success of his old Planet Hollywood buds Sylvester Stallone (age 61) and Bruce Willis (age 52). Their "Rocky" and "Die Hard" sequels found sizeable audiences in 2007, seemingly against the "they're just too dang old for this" odds. Also, Ah-nold was recently seen making the rounds with Harrison Ford, who at 65 is returning to his legendary Indiana Jones role -- and apparently kicking butt like the Indy of old.

Having just turned 60 himself, Arnold has to be thinking he's chronologically primed for a similar Second Coming (as it were). He'll be a mere toddler of 63 upon departing Sacramento. And, as we've come to know, action stars never die; they just blast away.
