Fans devided

As with the T3 movie, the fanbase is devided over the validity of The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series. We've said it before many times, and will keep doing it over and over again... but in the sence of the storyline of the movies, this series and its events can not exists.

From one of our older reviews...

All we know is that the T2 movie ended with Sarah believing that they'd won; "It's over!", she said, didn't she. And sure... theres this T3 movie that eventually came along, but Sarah does not know that? The timeline between the ending of T2 and T3 can never contain any infliction of any kind of future robot or warrior. And yes... we also know Sarah didn't really believe it all... or she would have had a back-up plan in her cascet!

Then theres this other 'remark'. Around november 2005 C2's senior vice president of development, James Middleton, commented on the series with the following: "Sarah Connor has the weight of the world on her shoulder, and she also has to raise a 14-year-old son who may be the salvation of the world, not to mention fighting off some killer cyborgs from the future who will no doubt be making an appearance".

What the hell? Cyborgs from the future? This does not tie into the T3 movie. "You shouldn't exist!", to quote T3's John Connor.

Although TerminatorFiles has always been behind any continuation of the Terminator saga, be it through movies or TV series, we've employed to the TV producers to keep in mind that it needs a good time- and storyline, preferably tied-in with the movies. Of course we can imagine it not to be very entertaining if Sarah or John never ever get to see a Terminator or any other character from the future. But according to T3 they couldn't have.

Appearently not, as can be see in the cast listing above (?*) (which we already knew about, but were not that appriciative to report upon).

All we now can do is wait and see... end of May 2007.

Interesting sidestep making the series workable!

Terminator fan 'Aeonstrife' contacted us a few hours after the launch of this news article, with a nice side-step that could make this series work in favor of both the ending of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and the things as told in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Something really smart! So smart we wonder why we did not think about this ourselfs ;).

"There is one way that I know of that could make The Sarah Chronicles be consistent with the Terminator movies, even if the series has Terminators; Sarah Connor and her son John did not fully destroy Cyberdyne in the T2 movie. Thus in the series they find out that Cyberdyne is still around while facing new Terminators from the future and together they eventually destroy the remnants of Cyberdyne."

Aha! Cyberdyne destroyed. Research destroyed. At the end of the series both main characters could then really believe its all over. That would definately work! It would even work with a possible CRS reference, come to think of it.

"Therefore, the Sarah Chronicles would be entirely consistent with the events of the films and nothing John Connor says in T3 would be invalidated by the new series."

Exactamundo! Now its upto the series producers to take this into account and make it happen. But we wonder if they ever listen to the fans anyway (cordially little flame towards them, in hope they DO listen ;).

Great thinking there... Aeonstrife! Thanx for sharing your ideas with us and all the fans.
