Headey reveals Connor Chronicles

Headey reveals Sarah Connor Chronicles

Lena Headey, who stars in the Fox SF drama pilot The Sarah Connor Chronicles, told SCI FI Wire that the show will begin with a confrontation between Headey's title character; her son, John Connor (Heroes' Thomas Dekker); and two new Terminators: a female model, played by Serenity's Summer Glau, and a male one, which she called Cromartie, played by Owain Yeoman. One is good and one is bad; she didn't say which is which. (Glau's character is named Cameron, an apparent nod to Terminator franchise creator James Cameron.)

The pilot, which picks up the story from the end of the feature film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, begins in the desert, and "it ends with them landing in L.A., having run and escaped. Or maybe not," Headey said in an interview at WonderCon in San Francisco on March 3.

"We just finished [shooting]," Headey (300) said. "We were in Albuquerque [N.M.] for a month. And it was very intense, because TV is crazy. I mean, it's long days. It's like boom, boom, boom. You don't get any respite. But ... I think it's going to be great. I don't know if its going to be picked up, because it's only in pilot stage right now. But I learned to shoot many weapons and how to recognize a Terminator. So it was a good experience."

The pilot "begins, and it's them basically running, hiding, trying to live," Headey said. "Trying to carve out a normal life for themselves, but always being watched and trying to locate Skynet, trying to stop [it]. But there are many, many issues in their way."

Soo... "Many issues in their way" ?!

They sure do! As predicted in past articles on our site, our forum and some other sites spread around the net... they couldn't keep from trying to have Terminators in this new series. A logical step, maybe, because it wouldn't be a Terminator series if there were no Terminator attached.

Then again, we've said this over and over again in the past; If the series is to stay true to the timeline between T2 and T3, none of the characters could never have seen or even heared about possible Terminators sent back, either to protect or terminate them.

But according to Headey, they are.

We knew this would happen, but we hoped that maybe, just maybe, the producers would think about what they were planning to execute on these series, and make it a real drama that takes place between the movies... and in the end to make it a real part of the timeline (although even that got screwed-up a bit after T3 was released).

What we as fans can do, are several things;
  1. Leave it be...
Take the series for granted, look at it for fun and don't take it too serious in comparison to the main movies.

  2. Additional featurette...
As we do with the Universal Studios T2:3D Battle Across Time attraction. An entity that is somewhat related to the saga, but should be concidered as a stand-alone thingie. And enjoy it as such.

  3. Or... Parralel universe?
Maybe the story could be seen as a parralel universe, where they did get to be protected by a Terminator. Where they did get to be terminated by possible bad Terminators. Or whatever.
Whatever this leads to... its feels like its not going to be that positive for the saga. We are already having a strange taste in our mouths, foaming about what this would ever turn into. Then again, we are fans of the Terminator saga, the series could work for the general public. But you won't see is crying whenever they decide to 'terminate it'.

In other news..

IMDB.com has the first image up for the new series. A picture of Dave Colon, as show above, credited playing 'LAPD Motor Officer', shot on the set of the pilot series. Check this and other images on www.imdb.com.

Thanx to forum-members TX-1975 and Matt-101 for the heads up!
