Info: FanProject 'Building a garagekit 1:1 Endoskeleton Arm'
How to model your own Endo arm
|
|
|
You've probably seen them around... on eBay or other auctions, at your local and/or online garagemodel shops. Models of the
1:1 Endoskeleton arm. You might even have bought one or more of them (or are planning to do so).
If you did, you must have seen the ammount of pieces the kit is made out of, let alone the somewhat dirty chipped resin
bits here and there (though this varies on each garagekit model out there). And then you scratched your head in disbelieve
on how you are ever going to be able to glue those pieces together into a neat collectible that should become the pride
of your collection.
Well, we did... twice! Searching, scrubbing and scratching the far corners of the web... we've finally found a fabulous
source that is the answer to any of your Endo arm modelling problems.
Tom Gray's Terminator Endoskeleton arm tutorial is THE best tutorial we've ever seen... and its all about modelling your
own custom arm. After a few e-mails back and forth, Tom and TerminatorFiles are now proud to present you with a whole new
FanProject: 'Building a garagekit 1:1 Endoskeleton Arm'

Tom is a modeller who has always had a special interest in the Aliens depicted weaponry, especially the so called M41A
Pulse Rifle. He's even build a website around it which offers
information and links for those individuals interested in building and learning more about the prop. M41A, right? Thats
cool! But this is a Terminator website?!
That... it is! The 'Building a garagekit 1:1 Endoskeleton Arm'
FanProject has a tutorial containing more then 140 images detailing every little bit there is to know when you are
building this garagekit. There are lots of references to help you develop this great prop, from treating its surfaces,
gluing together parts to custom modelling and added extra features. Best of all... this detailed tutorial will once and
for all delete any reference to any of the flaws one can see in lots of the official props out there; the original
Icons prop and even the Sideshow Collectibles props.
Not that we don't like them, we'd love to own those originals! But have you ever wondered about the elbow bit on all
these official props? Neither did we... until some observative fans contacted us on a major fault. Interested what it
is? Then you definately need to check Tom's fabulous FanProject!
TerminatorFiles owns two of these kits and is going to run through this (and other) tutorials as soon as possible.
Whenever we finished them, we'll post pics and more info on the website. But there is more! We are also in talks
with a dealer that sells finished kits like these, standing in its custom made (and lit) casing... all for a very
affordable price. More on this whenever our shopping spree and dealer contacts follow through. The wait should be
worth it!
Don't want to wait any longer? Got the kit or want to acquire one? (...more info inside!). Wanna get creative with
a step by step guide? Then lets get modelling!
