Mostow confirmed for Terminator 4
MovieHole.net reports that Variety confirms Mostow as the director of T4: It's confirmed. Jonathan Mostow will dust off
the towering terminator for a third sequel. Mostow, who directed Terminator 3, was confirmed for the "T4" gig in today's
Variety.
Unfortunately, it's a long ways off yet though (which could be good news for Schwarzenegger fans – because what I'm hearing
is that the current draft of the script is a restart for the series, and doesn't feature Arnie's red-eyed cyborg, but maybe
if he's available, they might be able to write him into it?) because Mostow has committed to direct "Tonight, He Comes",
which Columbia has been trying to get cooking for quite a while, which he will direct in L.A next Summer.
The film will star Will Smith as a disaffected and underappreciated superhero in a mid-life crisis. Akiva Goldsman (eeek)
and Michael Mann (hell yeah!) will produce.

Is this just another rumour? With a source like Variety, we don't think so... but you can never be sure, can you?! Lets first
get it confirmed by more 'official sources' (Warner Bros. for instance). The rumour mill has started off some months ago and
now things are crystalizing. But getting a confirmation? We've seen it too many times before... things being confirmed that
later on will be denied or told to have been plain old gossip. Not that we are that negative about it all... or?
MovieHole's article also mentions that the new movie will be a 'restart of the series' (whatever that means). So either this
is just another example of gossip... or the people behind the Terminator licence have thought of another way to 'out-do'
what they did with T3 (and we do not mean this in positive way).
Other great (fan)sites now also report on the confirmation:

"... So there's some good news for the start of the Christmas holidays! No jackass, inexperienced geeky nerd being brought in
to helm T4! Some experience, someone who's made a Terminator movie before. And we must say, we like the idea about writing
Arnold into the script (wether he's available or not!). The Terminator just has to be in this movie, even if it's only for
a short while! Bring back all of the big names - Schwarzenegger, Winston, Danes & Stahl! If this is going to end the Terminator
saga, then it needs make a mark - it has to make the series end with an almighty BANG!"
MonstersAndCritics.com (link)
"... Jonathan Mostow has been deluged with offers since his surprisingly great work on ‘Terminator 3’. He’s currently
planning a fourth Terminator movie as well as a remake of ‘Swiss Family Robinson’, but both projects will have to be put
on hold so he can jump right in to the superhero business with the Fresh Prince. He’ll also have to hold off on another
project, something called ‘Reel Steel’, a futuristic movie about boxing robots. Think of it as a big screen version of
Rockem Sockem Robots".
TheArnoldFans.com (link)
"... Great news; Variety is reporting today that "T3" director Jonathan Mostow has in fact signed for T4! The best thing
about this news is that we know Mostow will have a better chance of luring Arnold back for a good juicy cameo role over a
new director."
Lets hope for the best!
