Claire Danes gets nod for T3 role

Claire Danes has terminated Sophia Bush for the role of John Connor's girlfriend in "Terminator 3."

The recast came after director Jonathan Mostow ("U-571") felt Bush ("National Lampoon's Van Wilder") was too young for the role, reports Variety.

"This was a difficult decision because Sophia is a talented and charismatic performer," Mostow told Variety. "However, we feel, after reviewing the dailies, that her appearance and manner play younger than what we wanted for the role."

Danes (Romeo & Juliet) began filming her role on Sunday, starring opposite Nick Stahl ('The Thin Red Line'), who replaces Edward Furlong as John Connor.

"Terminator 3" sees Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as the pumped-up cyborg who helps Connor, humanities only hope against the machine ruled future, fight against the highly advanced TX model cyborg set on changing the future.

Danes just finished wrapping up three other films, including "The Hours" starring Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman, "It's All About Love" with Joaquin Phoenix and "Igby Goes Down" with Susan Sarandon.
